Robert Angstadt was born and raised in West Palm Beach, FL. Prior to enrolling in the University of Florida Levin College of Law, Rob spent almost nine years in the Navy, went on multiple deployments including participation in Operation Iraqi Freedom and anti-piracy operations off the coast of Somalia. Rob also worked as a Commercial Real Estate Broker with Cushman & Wakefield in South Florida and Sr. Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin.
During his time in the Navy, Rob rose through the ranks of the enlisted community eventually managing the work group responsible for maintaining the weapon system on a guided missile destroyer. Rob also served on various committees dedicated to improving the lives of his shipmates. When the Navy began downsizing and his fellow sailors that had planned on retiring after a twenty-year career were told their contracts were being terminated, Rob helped by writing resumes for these soon-to-be-thrust-into-the-civilian-world sailors.
Rob received his bachelors degree from Chapman University in Orange, California and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University in Glendale, Arizona. Rob was also active in each community he lived in by being a member of Rotary International since 2009. In one instance, he served on a charity auction committee that put on an event that raised over $20,000 towards curing polio throughout the world.
Presently, as a law student, Rob is the President of the Association for Law and Business, and a member of the University of Florida Trial Team, the Journal for Technology Law & Policy, and the Student Recruitment Team. He is also a Levin College of Law Ambassador and a Teaching Assistant for Legal Writing and Appellate Advocacy.
This past summer, Rob was a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Paul C. Huck at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida in Miami. This coming summer, Rob will be a Summer Associate in the Real Estate Practice Group at Holland & Knight’s Ft. Lauderdale office. Rob’s goal after law school is to earn a permanent position with Holland & Knight.
